Founded in 1946, Street Crane Company has grown from a small engineering firm into one of the UK’s leading manufacturers of overhead cranes and hoists. Our journey began with a vision to provide innovative lifting solutions that meet the highest standards of quality and safety. Over the decades, we have expanded our product range and capabilities, always staying at the forefront of technological advancements in the lifting industry.<\/p>\n

Born in Sheffield in 1921 Peter Street was destined to be an engineer. The youngest of four brothers, in a family that had connections to the steel industry, Peter grew up with a fascination for things mechanical.<\/p>\n

Peter served his country as a WWII Spitfire pilot and played an active role in many wartime events including campaigns in North Africa and Italy. Within a week of returning to civilian life on leaving the RAF, Peter took his \u00a388 gratuity and started a business in the \u201csteel town\u201d of Sheffield servicing and repairing the neglected cranes in the local workshops.<\/p>\n

The company grew by reputation and by the late 50s the firm was seeking larger premises.<\/p>\n <\/div>\r\n <\/div>\r\n
